I can smell melon in this, that's what the perfume reminds me of, how refreshing a cool piece of melon can be on a hot day. Rain starts off cool and smooth, almost slick, like the sheets of water that pour off surfaces when the downpour begins. Honestly, I had no expectation for this perfume since I randomly bought it but I fell in love instantly with this fragrance.

Of course I can also be wrong, maybe my nose picked up the notes differently back then, sometimes one and the same fragrance makes you feel it one day and the other day quite differently. Rain has kept my emotions in balance through his pure clean yet spicy manner - and this balance has been rewarded. I found no fresh perfume that gives me such a summer rain feeling like this Marc Jacobs, which is odd as I usually never get along with Marc Jacobs perfumes. I would say it’s more femine (if you like male version of it I would recommend Replica - when the rain stops).

It noticeably gains complexity after two or three hours, when an absolutely charming fruity note comes out, strawberry-flavored candy and a breezy of freshly washed clothes hanging outside.

This succeeds at least partially, if one refrains from the relatively short durability and shallow Sillage. Rain was and will always be the absolute ultimate perfume for me, theres no other like it and i have quite a collection and quite a nose. The scent is beautifully transparent and revitalising with a fresh opening of Wet Cut Grass, sparkling Wild Strawberry, Clementine Zest and Dewy Cypress. Think the smell goes better with a cool evening after the rain rather than the hot humidity of a mid-summer day rain.
