Aaronwell
Rough Collies
The Affix
we have today was orginanated from
our love of Elvis Presley and the
wonderful songs he sung .Aaron was
his middle name and well (well -why
not!)
Zelah was
our first Rough Collie in 1971, not
like the collies we show today l
must say , but she was our girl and
came everywhere with us including if
we ate out in restaurants. If we
could not park the car and see her
then we moved on until we could.
This is how rough collies get into
your hearts and lives without trying
to hard .
In 1977
Zelah had her first litter ,they
were so special to Margaret and l ,a
beautiful litter of eight we
unfortunately lost one bitch and all
sable and white .Two beautiful males
were kept Antoc and Kane and they
started the showing bug that we
still have today .
Aaronwell
Argy Bargy was the first male in
Devon and Cornwall to win his junior
warrant and also the youngest .
Other dogs owned here including
Pelido Momma Cass at
Aaronwell,Jassida Love Story at
Aaronwell and Lanteague Golden
Harvest was owned but never did
carry the affix of our kennel.
What a pity
as he sired many champions in the UK
.
Past dogs
that we have admired are Ch Myberns
Minstrel,Ch Aberthorne Arrester and
the Great Ch Brilyn Supertramp.
Supertramp
was the kind of dog once seen never
forgotten and the foundation of our
kennel, and the Brilyn line has
helped established our stock we have
today.
Due to our
home being geographically out on a
limb, we still travel extensively
throughout the UK and Northern
Ireland to shows and meet our
friends.
Now have
had the pleasure to judge many dogs
that l have admired from the ring
side l am pleased that l have had
the opportunity to do this at
championship show level.
Pride of
place when thinking about our
history in dogs goes to making up
our first champion ,our beautiful
tri coloured bitch Ch Criscoll
Crystal Dark at Aaronwell.
Whisper
(her pet name )excelled in head,
coat and personality and this trait
was passed on to her pups.
To add to
the list of successes we were
delighted when a home bred sable
male Aaronwell Antique Gold at
Brilyn became a Champion and is
passing on his many virtues to his
off spring both in the UK and
abroad.
We moved
premises 6 years ago and this has
taken a lot to sort out but now
settled and new kennels built we are
now on the return journey and what a
start we have had .
Two males
from Garhb kennels Scooby (Garbh
Gino of Aaronwell)and Yogi(Garbh
Ghillie of Aaronwell) have started
to make there show career impact
with Yogi winning the RCC under
breed specialist Jimmy Tait in
Darlington 2005.
Now we are
so excited by the expected arrival
of our new young hopeful
Topperteamīs Love de Lux from
Denmark .His breeding will have the
best of both worlds and this will be
interesting stock in the future of
the Aaronwell kennels .
